“ Rainbow bakery basically combined the dim sum part into one big place. It's a lot more modern but the dim sum menu is very limited now. The shu mai is good, not great... I'm didn't come here often but on occasion I'd get food delivered to my parents when it used to be on Uber Eats which they stopped. Since the renovation, my mom says the rice noodles don't taste the same as before and the portion is less. She likes the bakery part and I think it's better than F.D. So I'm glad there's a Chinese bakery that's at least pretty decent in Elmhurst. Prices are okay and the staff are nice. They tend to run out of stuff by the afternoon so that's a bit frustrating since I prob will never be there before 12... though I guess that's also a good thing ..don't want things to sit for hrs.. they do close pretty early too. ”
“ Nice space inside with a few seats. They brought back their rice rolls recently which has been tasty and delicious for a good price! The people who are working there are super friendly and I would say that this is a better rainbow bakery than most other ones. ”
“ My first visit at Rainbow Dim Sum blew me away. They are also called Rainbow Bakery. They have a wide selection of cake, dessert and Chinese style breads. Their dim sum and rice roll are delicious. The Shumai filling is large. I bought a bunch of bread when I was there. Their service is very quick for long line of customers every morning. The store is newly remodeled to connect two "used to be separated dim-sum reataurant and bakery shops" together. ”
“ Double Rainbow Bakery & Rainbow Dim Sum have finally become 1! They are #1 in my book! It's the perfect combo of pastries and dim sum. This is my go-to place for mochi donuts, beef rice crepes, pork & shrimp siu mai, birthday cakes and more. Now they also have ice cream cakes which I can't wait to try. I watched this place grow from a bakery into 2 separate store fronts which now has felt like a dream come true! I am happy to be able to buy my pastries, drinks and dim sum all in one place. Double Rainbow Bakery & Rainbow Dim Sum both get my yummylicious stamp of approval! I love this place! ”
“ Solid dim sum place that you can order to go/stay casually at the counter. It' not a place where you come and there's carts around but rather you look at the menu and order a la carte for takeout typically. Everything is pretty fresh as a result and the lady behind the counter was super nice despite my broken Chinese, lol. It's a small place with a few tables. Always gotta get the shrimp rice roll which was fresh, QQ, and had small/medium pieces of shrimp, as well as the shrimp chive dumplings which were nicely crispy all around. Have come more than a few time as I grew up in the area and love bringing my friends here who are not familiar to dim sum and when we just want a few items like on a food crawl instead of committing to an entire dim sum experience. ”
“ We get dim sum to-go here and it's always a hit. Love their fast service and never had a bad experience. Was sad when they were closed for renovations, so happy for their return! ”
“ Pretty solid option for standard dim sum and go options! Really enjoy everything I've tried from the dumplings to the noodles. I eat here at least a couple of times of month. Rainbow really shines with its consistency'. Overall it's standard, but solid! ”
“ One of my favorite dim sum places in the Elmhurst neighborhood. Prices can't be beat. I would stop by here after a shift at work to pick up a late lunch or early dinner. It's a smaller cafe, but most people take out so there's always a place to sit. ”
“ Small dim sum cafe with a few tables. They don't have an extensive menu, but all the standard ones are there, as well as freshly made rice noodles. The rice noodles are made to order so it can take 5-15 minutes depending on how busy they are. I had the chicken feet and a few of the rice noodles. Everything was tasty and the rice noodles were nice and silky. The only negative is that the mixed sauce rice noodles cost the same as the others rice noodles even though it is just plain noodles. When I ordered it there was no mixed sauce, just sweetened soy sauce. ”
“ This place is amazing!!! We were craving dim sum but didn't want to go all the way to flushing or Chinatown and didn't want to go to a restaurant either. You can eat there or take out. We ordered cheung fun (the fresh rice rolls), the ha gao (shrimp dumplings), siu mai, some baos, and bubble tea. This place is fast, delicious, and extremely affordable, like extremely which I appreciate. I grew up eating dim sum and this totally hit the spot. The cheung fun was so fresh and delicious. All their dim sum was great. Their bubble tea isn't super fancy but at a great price! At the bubble tea chains it would have been double the price! We will be coming back and definitely recommend it! ”
